Nokia Friend View is a location and micro-blogging service that helps you stay in touch with your close friends. It lets you share where you are and how you feel from home, work, or on the go. With Friend View it is easy to meet up at only a moment’s notice.
Friend View uses Integrated GPS, Bluetooth GPS and Network Based positioning when available. When you use Friend View on your phone, it keeps a data connection open all the time, so we recommend that you only use it if you have a ’flat rate’ data plan.
Friend View takes another small step to make you feel closer to you friends! A nice *** to the S60 application with Friend alerts!
Now you can keep Friend View in the background in “Normal” or “Active” modes (options: Refresh Mode) and a “pling-plung” from Friend View will tell you that your friend is close by so you can meet. You will of course get alerted as well if Friend View is in use in foreground.
Requirements:
Should work on all Nokia devices based on S60 3rd Edition.
Tested with Nokia 5320 XpressMusic, 6110 Navigator, 6210 Navigator, N95, N95 8GB, N82, N96,E71, E90, N80 and E61.

In addition to the Tube, the application has been also tested with the Nokia N97 and it’s reported to work perfectly.

If you happen to have Nokia Friend View installed on your Nokia 5800 XM, you should uninstall it, grab the latest version, and install it again…

Unlock your Nokia 5800 like iphone!

It is a simulation of the iphone lock screen, you need to first unlock your 5800 with the unlock key! When the iphone lock screen pops up, you can slide the screen to “unlock” the phone, also you can still use the Green, Menu, Red keys of your 5800. nUnLock also supports all S60 3rd phones (like N95, N96 etc) without touch screen, you can just press the right key to simulate the slide!

Feel it…feel like iphone

Register with or the password is : 00000    (5 zero)
then exit it。

Firing the built-in App. Update on the 5800 XpressMusic will come up with a mysterious Flash Lite 3.1 Update. Mysterious in the sense that this is the first time I see Flash Lite, a core part of the OS, being updated outside the regular firmware update. Usually this kind of stuff is imbedded in the new firmware. Could this be a start to quicker and more frequent updates to Flash Lite and or other components? We’ll be reporting soon if and when we see notable changes.

Update: According to the Adobe Flash Lite site, version 3.1 brings the following changes:

Update 2: Using the 5800 XpressMusic to watch the Desktop version of Youtube via the S60 browser, reveals much smoother video and quicker transition from standard to fullscreen view. But the biggest improvement comes to the Youtube seek bar: before the update it was most of the time difficult or impossible to use the seek bar, now it works perfectly.

This is Just for Fun!! Check out this cool Nokia 5800 App which turns your screen into an old style rotary dialer. Its fully functional and uses the vibrate of the phone to great effect. Once you’ve entered your number you can hit the “Call” button to place a call.

The application came from Jamie Fuller, the same guy who developed the magical multi-touch UI for Nokia 5800. This is another cool application from him. See Rotary Dialer in action in the video demo below.
