How to Change Fonts on Nokia 5800
There are two parts to this tutorial. The first part is for those with v11 firmware. The second part is for those with v20 firmware. Just a quick reminder though, when you change your font on your phone it also affects the font displayed on your web browser. So you might want to choose a suitable font to go with your phone.
Nokia 5800 - v11 firmware

- Connect your Nokia 5800 using mass storage. Alternatively you can use a card reader.
- Browse through your memory card and look for the folder called “Resource”
- Copy the ‘Fonts’ folder into in. (Download links to Sample font above)
- Eject the memory card and restart your phone. The new fonts will take effect.
Alternatively you can use your own custom fonts. What you need is the font file in the .ttf format.
- Create a folder called “Fonts” and copy your .ttf font file into it.
- Make 4 copies of the same file and rename them to
- s60snr.ttf
- s60ssb.ttf
- s60tsb.ttf
- S60ZDIGI.ttf
- Repeat the same procedure as above (copy the Fonts folder into the Resource folder in your memory card.
- Restart your phone and the new fonts should take effect.
Nokia 5800 - v20 firmware
It is the same procedure as above however only 3 files need to be created in the following names:
- s60sc_c.ttf
- s60tchk_c.ttf
- S60ZDIGI.ttf
Copy the Fonts folder to Resource folder and yes a restart is required…
How do I change back to my default fonts?
It is even easier to revert back to the original fonts. To do that, just browse to your memory card and delete the “Fonts” folder which you created in the “Resource” folder. Restart your phone and voila, it is back to the original font.
